Crane comes down! - 29 April 2009
TC2 or - as it is known to the general public - the second highest crane on the White River Place development, came down last weekend, marking another milestone in the centre's development ahead of the official opening of White River Place in October 2009.
Having been instrumental in the heavy lifting of sub-structure works in the early stages of construction and latterly used to position components of the structure of the buildings, TC2 has been in operation for twelve hours a day since it arrived on site in April 2008. It has lifted between 10 and 15 weighty items an hour during this time; totalling approximately 7,500 items of shopping centre structure during its stay.
Sean Finlay, Director of White River Developments comments: "The removal of one of the largest cranes on site is yet another exciting chapter in the development of St Austell's new shopping district, as our team continues its hard work to get White River Place completed for the town's shoppers."
