Six months to go and White River Place, St Austell further strengthens line-up with Peacocks and Bonmarche
The latest range at Bonmarche
With six months before the scheduled launch; White River Developments is delighted to announce this week that it has exchanged contracts for two new retailers.
13,700 sq ft space has been let to the Peacocks chain, which will trade as Peacocks and Bonmarche in adjacent units on the main retail level. The rent has been agreed at £228,000 per annum and Tushingham Moore and CBRE acted jointly for White River Developments.
Taking the scheme to 65% let, the two latest retailers will trade alongside a line-up that includes a 40,000 sq ft Wilkinson store, a 14,500 sq ft New Look, as well as Frankie & Benny's and HBOS. The scheme also boasts a state-of-the-art, four-screen cinema complex that opened in December 2008. White River Cinema is being operated by the Cornish company, WTW Cinemas, and reached a major milestone of 50,000 cinema visits by the end of last week.
Sean Finlay, Director at White River Developments comments: "This is great news for White River Place and serves as an indication of retailer confidence in the scheme. The new shopping and leisure hub has been developed in response to genuine demand from consumers for a wider retail and leisure provision in the heart of St Austell, with ample parking and good transport links and we therefore feel very positive that it will be widely supported by the local and regional population."
Sir Robert McAlpine are constructing the scheme and bring local experience to the project following their creation of the world-famous Eden Project some eight years ago. Sir Robert McAlpine reached their own milestone this week with the announcement of the practical completion of the first retail unit, ready for handover to Frankie & Benny's for fit-out.
